Keeping Kings Lynn and West Norfolk trees in check
Midland Forestry has been awarded the contract to carry out all tree inspections for King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council. Mainly concentrating on health and safety issues, Midland Forestry is tasked to carry out systematic tree inspections to improve tree health and lead to a more sustainable tree population.
Inspection of the trees in the Walks have begun as the first instruction in the three year contract.
The Walks is an historic urban park in the heart of King's Lynn. Dating from 18th century The Walks is a Grade II Historic Park (English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Historic Interest). The park covers 17 hectares and has a large tree population of predominantly mature and over mature Limes and Horse Chestnuts. Many other tree species are represented with particularly fine examples of both London and Oriental Planes. The trees are being inspected on a tree by tree basis and works specified to address issues of safety, nuisance, amenity and formative pruning.
As part of our advice we will provide, for the first time in 10 years of regular tree inspections in the park, a plan graphically illustrating which trees require works and what the works will address.
Sites in Hunstanton and Downham Market are programmed for inspection once The Walks is complete with others to follow across the Borough.
