Midland Forestry Limited were recently commissioned by Birmingham Airport to reduce the height of a large volume of trees in and around their runway approach.
Birmingham Airport is surrounded by beautiful, untouched forestry, which hosted a large bank of trees reaching collossal heights. The decision to carry out this work came from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).The project involved reducing the heights of all trees directly facing the runways down to a safe height of two metres without harming the trees in any way.
Sensitivity to protecting the environment is the hallmark of all Midland Forestry activities. The company is ISO14001 approved, and for every project it carries out a detailed assessment of the potential environmental impact before starting work.
It's staff are fully trained in environmental awareness, and working procedures are tailored to minimise their impact. For example, the company exclusively uses bio-degradable lubricants for its chain saws, and it recycles waste bio mass wherever it is practical to do so. The project was a great success and Birmingham Airport were extremely pleased with the care and attention taken by Midland Forestry to ensure that the environment was carefully preserved.
